6. I Saw A Bird!

J.M.J.

I saw a bird fly by today!

Bird flew this way and then that way.

Then Bird hopped on the grassy ground.

Bird pecked and Bird looked all around.

I crept up close so I could see,

Just hoping Bird would not see me.

But Bird did see me and Bird flew

away somewhere I never knew!

But Bird came back to grassy ground,

And hopped and pecked and hopped around,

Just like before Bird did see me…

But now I hid behind the tree!

So I could watch Bird eat and fly

So very high up in the sky!

Bird didn’t mind if I was near,

To be too close caused Bird to fear.

I hope that Bird makes time for fun!

Bird seemed so sure what need be done.

God has made Bird to know the way

Bird needs to be for every day.

Bird’s head was lifted high and proud…

I hope you’re reading this out loud! (a)

I just might hear you if you do,

That fun would be for me, from you!

I’m happy you read this today.

God bless you is what I do say!     (See Footnote #6)

  1. To Finney from your friend Jane,
I can tell you love God’s creation! It is great you found a hidden spot to watch that robin on the ground. If he only knew you were watching him from afar! They are so much fun to watch. I bet he will be glad when his work is through today so he can rest like you at the end of the day. Goodnight Finney. Pleasant dreams.

  2. To my Friend, Jane, from Finney!

Yes, watching Bird was so much fun!
Just watching him get his work done.
But, I must say just one more thing,
    If he’s a she…I’m wondering?

To you, Friend Jane, a good night, too,
As always, I say, God bless you!
