10. The Leprechaun Way…!

J.M.J.

+

A leprechaun’s world is unique,

And I’d like now, to let you peek

Into things that are just so small,

Smaller than you, whose world is tall!

My fork is small, but yours is big.

When I’m happy, I dance a jig!

221

My fiddle plays well, though so small.

To play for you?  Don’t mind a-t’all!

224

My socks are small, and yours are big.

My shovel’s small, with which I dig.

251

My hat, my teapot, and my mittens;

My Brigid’s cross and my clothespins;

230      232

241      219

My tea set, too, they’re all so small…

You could not use them much at all!

231

I’ve talked too much, so now I’ll nap.

I’ll head for home…don’t need a map!

I’ll climb right in my nice, warm bed.

I’ll lay right down my sleepy head!

003

But don’t forget!  Please read out loud!

I might hear you!  I’ll be so proud!

I’m happy you read this today.

God bless you is what I do say!  (See Footnote #10)

9. Where Do I Live…?

J.M.J.

+

A leprechaun must find a place

To live where none can see his face.

Just now and then, not all the time,

A leprechaun who’s in life’s prime

Must hide his secrets out of sight…

A place away from too much light.

022

011

007

 Sometimes it’s underneath a tree…

A home that would be hard to see.

014

Sometimes it’s underneath a stairs…

Inside a place where no one cares

To really look, or sit, or play…

And hard to notice day to day.

But sometimes, too, it can be true

That someone builds a home brand new,

For leprechauns to sleep and rest…

With hearth and table!  Just the best!

I tell you this because I know

That this can certainly be so.

My Uncle Wink built Me a home,

Which keeps me safe after I roam!

8. About Me!

J.M.J.

+

I’m hoping that by now you know

I am so happy I can go

To this nice place and talk to you,

And speak of things both old and new!

So many stories I could tell

Of leprechauns I know so well.

But just for now, I’ll tell of me.

I’ll tell you stories…history!

A leprechaun must work each day

Before there’s any thought to play.

God gives a path we each must live

And leprechauns…we, each, must give

Our best to do our special task

Because this is what God does ask.

290

So, now I say blue sky or cloud,

Please try to read these rhymes out loud!

I just might hear you if you do.

That fun would be for me, from you!

I’m happy you read this today.

God bless you is what I do say!     (See Footnote #8)

7. The Beautiful Flower!

J.M.J.

+

Since last we talked I met the bird

And Robin is her name, I heard!

Also I hear her sweet, sweet song.

It makes me want to sing along.

012

While she was busy working hard

Just doing things she’s learned from God,

I was still busy seeking “green”

In Nature’s springtime garden scene!

And I was happy just to see

A purple flower quite near me!

The flower was so new and fine

And happy blooming in sun’s shine!

056

054

The flower looked a healthy-proud.

You know I say, please read out loud!

…that I might hear you if you do;

That fun would be for me, from you!

I’m happy you read this today.

God bless you is what I do say!     (See Footnote #7)

6. I Saw A Bird!

J.M.J.

+

I saw a bird fly by today!

Bird flew this way and then that way.

Then Bird hopped on the grassy ground.

Bird pecked and Bird looked all around.

0142

I crept up close so I could see,

Just hoping Bird would not see me.

But Bird did see me and Bird flew

away somewhere I never knew!

But Bird came back to grassy ground,

And hopped and pecked and hopped around,

Just like before Bird did see me…

But now I hid behind the tree!

201

So I could watch Bird eat and fly

So very high up in the sky!

Bird didn’t mind if I was near,

To be too close caused Bird to fear.

I hope that Bird makes time for fun!

Bird seemed so sure what need be done.

God has made Bird to know the way

Bird needs to be for every day.

Bird’s head was lifted high and proud…

I hope you’re reading this out loud! (a)

I just might hear you if you do,

That fun would be for me, from you!

I’m happy you read this today.

God bless you is what I do say!     (See Footnote #6)

5. Hooray for Spring!

     J.M.J.

   +

 015      014

When springtime comes, we look for green…

Not always easy to be seen.

But I, Finney, do look with care,

Because the ground can seem so bare.

Each blade of grass, each leaf so new,

Is just a miracle it grew!

I know that this is all God’s gift,

And gives us all a welcome lift!

To see creation happening

Is just such an amazing thing!

God’s gift of life shows us its face,

In every day and every place!

So. watch for each fine growing thing

That God will give to us this Spring!

Though day may have blue sky or cloud,

Please try to read these rhymes out loud! (a)

I just might hear you if you do,

That fun would be for me, from you!

I’m happy you read this today,

God bless you is what I do say!           (See Footnote #5)

Hello, my Friend!  Hello today!

I hope you are in a fine way!

No matter whether rain or shine,

I always hope your day is fine!

It’s so much fun when Spring is here!

To see nice flowers, we do cheer!

0301161109a-1   7b-109a

Little greens will show their faces,

In the cranny-est of places!

0324160905   0324160857

A gentle breeze does let us know

We might be done with cold and snow!

0107161056a

And though I’ll miss winter’s nice scenes

Of snow and Christmas reds and greens,

I love the fresh and free spring air.

No heavy coats or scarves to wear!

151-41-0202161007   1388

The grass’s green will be all the more,

With summer flowers still in store!

2254

The fine Spring rains will help things grow,

So that they bring a summer show!

It’s Eastertime!  It’s Eastertime!

And…Yes!…I always speak in rhyme!

0312161026a

When Easter comes, more joy to tell

What good St. Pat taught us so well.

180

Our Jesus died, and then He rose.

He died for us, His Love He shows

To each of us, in every day.

He guides us each along our way!

Sgo_corazón16

And, though, I’m small and wear green clothes,

I do well know the things He chose

That caused His suffering and death…

All that he did till His last breath…

Were done for Love…the Greatest Love,

That Father God sent from above!

Forgive them, Father, He did say,

He said they just don’t know The Way.

1347

So, at this time of year we know,

That fine Spring flowers start to grow!
