A leprechaun’s world is unique,
And I’d like now, to let you peek
Into things that are just so small,
Smaller than you, whose world is tall!
My fork is small, but yours is big.
When I’m happy, I dance a jig!
My fiddle plays well, though so small.
To play for you? Don’t mind a-t’all!
My socks are small, and yours are big.
My shovel’s small, with which I dig.
My hat, my teapot, and my mittens;
My Brigid’s cross and my clothespins;
My tea set, too, they’re all so small…
You could not use them much at all!
I’ve talked too much, so now I’ll nap.
I’ll head for home…don’t need a map!
I’ll climb right in my nice, warm bed.
I’ll lay right down my sleepy head!
But don’t forget! Please read out loud!
I might hear you! I’ll be so proud!
I’m happy you read this today.
God bless you is what I do say! (See Footnote #10)
